We discuss the draft legislation which was released late Friday last week, and which would outlaw cash payments above $10k under the guise of tax efficiency.. But as we discussed before, the real agenda is all about negative interest rates and extreme monetary policy, as prescribed by the IMF. Ross McNaughton, strategic services general manager at National Australia Bank, is being questioned over NAB allowing a Queensland grazier's debt to balloon to A$7.8 million from A$3.3 million by imposing punitive default payments over several years of drought and crashing prices.

I discuss the potential impact of an Australian Glass-Steagall banking separation with Robbie Barwick from the CEC.

There is a bill in the Parliament currently, and The Banking Royal Commission is taking submissions on strategic issues such as the structure of banking in Australia, so this is a timely discussion.

It also offers a mechanism to protect bank deposits and to restore trust to mainstream banking, something sorely needed as the Commission revealed.

Clive van Horen, general manager of retail products at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), is being questioned on credit card insurance being sold by CBA to people who couldn’t claim because they didn’t have a job, including those on unemployment benefits, pensioners and students.

Recorded on 19 and 20 March 2018 at the Owen Dixon Commonwealth Law Courts Building in Melbourne.

An interim report from the banking royal commission has found misconduct by banks and financial institutions has been driven by greed.
